Chicago’s Mysterious Mothman

Dan Guzman

In the late 1960’s people around Point Pleasant West Virginia started reporting sightings of a large winged creature they dubbed The Mothman. After the Silver Bridge collapse in 1967 he disappeared, it’s entirely possible that in the face of tragedy people linked the two events.

Let us Chicagoans hope this is not true, sightings of The Mothman began here in 2011 and the last reported sighting was at O’Hare airport by a postal worker in 2020. Keep your eyes to the sky Chicago, be it a hoax, giant bird, or batman wannabe, something is definitely stalking our skies.
